Overview
This is an overhead view of the
virtual farm. The farm was created as a backdrop
to ongoing research between Deere and Company and the Iowa Center for Emerging
Manufacturing Technology. The farmscape was modeled using MultiGen II with pro pack
options on a Onyx RE2. The database is used in conjunction with IRIS Performer and
is navigated with "virtual" tractors and implements such as the John Deere 8000
series tractor. This research is allowing us new ways of increasing the efficiency
of the manufacturing process and developing a more ergonomically sound environment for the
end user of the equipment.
